Aimee Copeland Foundation

It’s official!

The Aimee Copeland Foundation is proud (and grateful, and excited and amazed) to announce its official formation!

Although I first dreamed up the idea of a holistic wellness center while lying in a hospital bed in 2012, it took A LOT of work to bring the organization to life!

Less than a year after I finished inpatient rehabilitation at Shepherd Center, I completed my master’s in psychology – and began my master’s in social work. I knew studying social work would further prepare me to start a nonprofit and work with vulnerable populations.

I graduated with my MSW in 2016 and was licensed in my field later that year. My first job as a licensed social worker was at one of Georgia’s community mental health services centers, where I provided therapeutic counseling to individuals with a wide array of mental health disorders. Now, I’m a resident psychotherapist at Heartwork Counseling Center and simultaneously serve as the CEO and president of ACF.

Looking back, I realize how far my initial idea has come! We have assembled an amazing board of directors, comprised of diverse and brilliant community members – all dedicated to bringing this idea to fruition. And, we are currently planning our very first ACF event to raise awareness and funds to build the center in 2019.

So much is happening and I couldn’t be more excited! ACF couldn’t do this without YOU and your continued support. I can’t wait to share more news with you, and invite you to sign up for our newsletter for exclusive updates!
